Design Similar to Fire Stop Pillows the SPG Fire Stop Sponges can easily be installed by an untrained worker. By pressing the material together, cutting it with a knife or simply tearing it off plugs and blocks can be adapted to every form required. Sealing can be disassembled any time and material may be used again for the renewed sealing. SPG Fire Stop Sponges are made from a soft, flexible, sponge-like material with intumescent (heat-expanding) effect. They are especially suitable for the sealing of cables and metal pipes against fire, smoke and sound.
Installation Directions
To achieve a fire-resistant sealing to class S90 (F90) SPG Plugs have to be installed back to back ( 2 pcs in each core hole). SPG Blocks have to be installed by their depth of 220mm, independent of wall or floor thickness. Gaps between the sponges and cables are to be filled with SPG Mastic.
